Tnection’s Ultrasonic Side Welding Units are engineered for continuous edge sealing of moving plastic fabrics, films and laminated textiles.

Ideal for packaging, sunshades, tarpaulins, and woven polypropylene (FIBC/bigbag) , the system seals fabric edges while the material is in motion — flat or pre-folded — delivering clean, strong, and fray-free bonding.

Available in Passive or Active Direct-Drive Motorized versions with sealing speeds up to 80 m/min.

It offers:

Two Configurations for Different Machine Setups:

1 – Passive Version

• Free-rotating carving roller with a fixed horn and long-life adjustable press system
• Compact and cost-effective solution for moderate-speed lines up to 50 m/min
• Simple integration into transfer or rewinding machines

The Passive version remains a cost-effective solution for simpler or slower edge-bonding processes.

2 – Active Direct-Drive Electric Motorized Version

• Direct-drive motor powering the carving roller — no transmission elements
• Adjustable speed up to 80 m/min , ideal for high-throughput production
• Motor’s rotation aligns with fabric flow, reducing resistance and improving bonding consistency
• Enhanced fabric control, reduced wrinkling, and highly repeatable welding quality
• Speed adjustable via a compact motor control panel and can communicate with machines PLC
